Saul Salonga

The 2004 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year has been described as one of the brightest stars in his community. An honest and hard working student, Saul Salonga is committed in all of his academic, personal and community-oriented endeavours.

The Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council, along with the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Committee, the Distinguished Independent Panel of Judges and Atlantic Medical Insurance Company is proud to recognize Saul Salonga.

Saul Salonga, a sixth grade student at Mary Star of The Sea (Catholic) School, is the 2004 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. He has been selected as the top Primary School Student in The Bahamas for the 2004, becoming third male and second student from Grand Bahama to capture the award.

Saul's entire primary education has been spent at Mary Star of the Sea School, where he has achieved very high honours in each of his years. He has repeatedly demonstrated an extremely mature and sincere personality and has been a natural leader, which supported his appointment as class prefect for two consecutive years.

Not only does Saul excel in the classroom, but he ash proven himself to b a responsible and committed member of his parish - Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church. He has faithfully and willingly served on the altar for a number of years and has recently participated as a lecturer.

He has been a cub scout at Mary Star of the Sea School from second grade. Because of his exemplary behavior dedication and leadership skills, he now serves as a "Sixer" or leader of his fellow cubs.

Master Saul Salonga, 11, was the first runner up in the 38 th Annual Catholic Diocese Spelling Bee Competition held in January 2004. He represented The Bahamas in an international spelling bee competition in February 2004 in Tampa, Florida.

Saul is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Walter D. Salonga.
