
The Board of Directors of the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation and the Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council in conjunction with the Distinguished Panel of Judges are pleased to announce that an organized, self confident, well-mannered and enthusiastic student has been selected as the 2009 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. The 2009 winner is Khes Rainier Yuri Adderley, an 11 year old student representing Temple Christian Elementary School. She has maintained a 4.00 Grade Point Average throughout her entire primary school education. She is ranked number one of seventy-nine students.
Ms. Sharmaine Porter – Principal, Temple Christian Schools noted that “Khes is one of the brightest young minds this country has to offer, and with the support of her parents, school, and church family, will not only be a great Student of the Year, but an outstanding leader in time to come”.
Khes is the 2008 – 2009 Head Girl at Temple Christian School. On her campus, she is an outstanding student leader who is the Classroom Manager, Science Ambassador, Class Queen and a Member of the Parliamentary and Law Club.
She is also an active member of the Striders Track Club, the Bahamas Dance Theater and the Children’s Choir and Dance Troop at the Family of Faith Ministries. She has been a member of the Barracuda Swim Club for several years. She has been an integral part of the winning team at the National Championships for the past three years.
Khes has the ability, drive and determination to accomplish all that she wishes to achieve. Her high standards compliment her impeccable manners.
Khes’ vision for a better Bahamas is for young Bahamian students to use their gifts and talents to honour God, their family and their school.
The 2009 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year is the daughter of Richard & Opal Adderley.
