Nadja N. Simon
The Board of Directors of The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation and the Nassau, Bahamas Pan-Hellenic Council in conjunction with the Distinguished Panel of Judges are pleased to announce that one of the most outstanding, determined and goal oriented students, has been identified as the 2012 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. Nadja Niara Simon, an 11 year old student of Genesis Academy, New Providence has been selected from among the 112 nominees as the 2012 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. Nadja maintains an accumulative grade point average of 3.92.
Mrs. Melody Treco-Hanna, Principal of Genesis Academy describes Nadja as a leader among a peer group of strong leaders. She is an outstanding student who scores consistently maintains above the 3.92 grade point average which is the Principal’s Honour Roll at her school. She further noted that she has a winning personality supported by her character of excellence. While she exudes self confidence, Nadja is neither self-absorbed nor arrogant about her assets. She is deeply committed to the welfare of others and works hard at making those around her feel a sense of value.
Nadja is a member of the school’s dance group, choir, reading club, Wealth Academy After School Money club and cheerleading squad. She is a member of Christ Community Church Awana Group; Edris Cunningham Music Class; Aqua Fins Swim Club; The Place for Art – Art School and the youngest member of We The People. Nadja is destined to positively impact her country and indeed the world, if she continues on her present path of positive living.
An Artist, Nadja has participated in the Bahamas International Film Festival, Christ Community Church Annual Recital and was a part of a team of photographers that participated in a photo exhibition entitled “Do You See What I See.” As a Photographer, Nadja has honed her skills to the point that she can charge for professional services as an event or news photographer.
Nadja who is a member of The Church of God of Prophecy – Elizabeth Estate is the daughter of Philip & Sherry Simon.
