I extend heartiest congratulations to The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation, and to its honourees for having reached another milestone. The Foundation has shown true commitment to the educational development of our youth through these awards programmes, which shine a spotlight on the varied abilities, talents and achievements of boys and girls in the primary school system, both public and private in New Providence and on the Family of Islands.
Honourees, it is not by chance that you are here. You have been selected from your peers as the créme of the crop for diligence in your work, positive extra curricular involvement, being excellent role models, and for always practising respect and responsibility. Having made it this far, it is no wonder that you are considered the brightest and the best. Now that you have been singles out for this honour, you have even more of a responsibility to continue to improve and to maintain your excellent standing as you prepare for junior High school.
We, at the Ministry of Education look forward to seeing all of you receive awards for acquiring five or more Bahamas Junior Certificates (BJC) and Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) examination passes in the futur

We encourage you to maintain your high grade point averages (GPA), and to rest assured that the Ministry will give you its full support in providing opportunities through the implementation of educational programmes and initiatives, and scholarship awards as you work steadfastly to achieve your dreams through excellence in education.
I commend the Foundation’s committee members and other stakeholders for partnering with the Ministry of Education in this much needed effort of rewarding our children for the positive things that they are doing. Teachers and parents are to be given special recognition for their individual roles played both in the classrooms and at home. Let us, as stakeholders, make a promise to continue to inspire and guide our children in realizing their full potential.
