NASSAU, Bahamas, February 20th, 2008,
FirstCaribbean International Bank continues to support education and the nation’s youth. Recently, the bank donated to the Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation, to assist with providing scholarships to deserving students in the Foundation’s flagship programme, the 2008 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Programme. Since 1997, the Awards Programme has positively impacted the lives of over 800 talented students. In 2008, the Programme will seek to award over 100 students and FirstCaribbean is pleased to be able to assist with the development of these outstanding students. A part of FirstCaribbean’s thrust is to give back to the communities it serves with the aim of, “Enriching our Communities. Together.” Mr. Ricardo P. Deveaux is a former winner in FirstCaribbean’s flagship Unsung Heroes Programme for the work that he did in forming the student awards Programme. FirstCaribbean has contributed some $14,000.00 to the Awards Programme since 2004.
