Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” On behalf of the Chairman and Members of the Board of Directors and Awards Committee Members, we say congratulations to our President and CEO Ricardo P. Deveaux on being recognized in the 2023 National Honours.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Ms. Tiffany Moncur, our 1999 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year. Tiffany who represented Carmichael Primary School in the 1998 and 1999 Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Awards Programs was selected as the 1998 - 7th Place Finalist and 1999 Student of the Year. She became the third student to hold the national student of the year title and the first student to win from a public school. Tiffany Nicole Moncur was described as a well-rounded individual who served as a role model for her fellow students. She was further described as an excellent student who is well disciplined and displayed much enthusiasm in her work.
Tiffany furthered her education at St. John's College and she graduated from Cocoa High School in 2005. She attended Cornell University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences, Class of 2009. She became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. during the Fall of 2008.
We were excited to see Tiffany at the 2023 Awards Program, where she came to support her niece Alayah Pesoa, 2023 Finalist who represented Sybil Strachan Primary School (formerly Carmichael Primary School).
The Bahamas Primary School Student of the Year Foundation would like to extend our sincere condolences to her mother - Mrs. Clara Moncur; siblings including 2002 Semi-Finalist Anjelica Moncur; niece 2023 Finalist Alayah Pesoa and the entire Moncur Family.
May her soul rest in peace.
